Fertile Ground Gardens is a well established, woman-run fine garden maintenance and design/build firm looking to hire motivated individuals to join our team. We specialize in caring for beautiful ornamental gardens using organic and least toxic methods. We also design and build high end residential landscapes with a focus on native and adapted plants. Fine Gardening Division Manager

The Fine Gardening Division Manager will organize, monitor and supervise the Fine Gardening Division to maintain quality of service and client satisfaction. We are looking for someone with at least four years of increasingly responsible professional gardening/landscaping experience including some lead supervisory experience. Advanced knowledge of Central Texas plants, weeds, pest management, organic treatments, soil health and best pruning practices required. The Division Manager will develop long-term relationships with customers, participate in the selection of maintenance staff, and provide or coordinate staff training. Field work will be required for training, advanced horticultural tasks, and to fill in for Crew Leads as needed. The Division Manager will suggest and estimate improvements and solutions to individual gardens as well as seasonal add-ons.
Hourly rate starts at $25 and up depending on experience.
Medical insurance after 60 days.
Sick leave accumulates immediately.
Paid holidays.
One week paid vacation after six months. Additional week of paid vacation per year of service up to four weeks.
No weekends, major holidays, or evenings/nights.
Quarterly wellness allowance after six months.

Landscape Crew Member

We are looking for full and part time landscape crew members. Join our dynamic team to care for and build beautiful gardens. We are willing to train the right people who love the outdoors and cooperating with others. Duties will include working with the fine garden crew to care for residential ornamental landscapes by hand weeding, perennial and structural pruning, soil building, raking, leaf blowing and organic fertilization. Crew members will also work with the installation manager to haul soil and mulch, spread gravel, lay flagstone and install plants.
Hourly rate starts at $19 and up depending upon experience.

Fine Garden Lead

The Fine Garden Lead will be responsible for meeting client budget goals while keeping the gardens healthy and beautiful. We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of professional gardening experience and knowledge of plants, weeds, pest management, organic treatments, soil health and best pruning practices. The lead should be able to work independently as well as supervise less experienced crew, providing coaching and feedback. The Lead will be responsible for picking up the truck from the yard at 7:00 a.m., load tools and be ready to meet the crew at 7:30 a.m. on the jobsite. You will need a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Hourly rate starts at $21 and up depending on experience.
