Fertile Ground Gardens is a well established, woman-run fine garden maintenance and design/build firm looking to hire motivated individuals to join our team. We specialize in caring for beautiful ornamental gardens using organic and least toxic methods. We also design and build high end residential landscapes with a focus on native and adapted plants. We maintain a very high level of quality in our work. Working with capable people who care about each other and the work they do is a big part of what makes this job enjoyable.
All positions require honesty/integrity, positive attitude, hard work outdoors, willingness to learn and take direction, driver’s license, and reliable transportation. We are an LGBTQ inclusive work place.
Knowledge of native plants, soil science, pruning and/or installation skills are a big plus.

Landscape Crew Members

We have openings for Landscape Crew Members on our maintenance and installation teams. The role of the crew member is to provide quality garden maintenance and installation while meeting production and budget goals with other team members. The work includes hand weeding, plant health care, pruning, and blowing leaves. Crew members also spread compost and mulch, gravel and install metal edging. Additional work with the hardscape foreman may be required.
MUST have reliable transportation, will need to have your own car or truck (bicycle and bus don’t work in this situation). Women and LGBQT encouraged to apply.
Weekly pay.
Medical insurance after 60 days for full time.
Sick leave accumulates immediately.
Paid holidays for full time.
One week paid vacation for full time after six months.
No weekends, major holidays, or evenings/nights.
Quarterly wellness allowance after six months.
Salary: $20 – $25 per hour depending on experience

Seasonal Crew Members
(Part-time & Full-time)

We are looking for Seasonal Crew Members through Spring 2026. Duties will include fine garden maintenance such as pruning, hand weeding, soil amendment and mulch. We also install our own designs which involve excavation, sod removal, patio construction, building retaining walls, soil hauling, stone, gravel hauling and planting.
MUST have reliable transportation, will need to have your own car or truck (bicycle and bus don’t work in this situation).
We need at least two to three full days per week. Women and LGBQT encouraged to apply.
Hourly rate starts at $18 and up depending on experience.
Weekly pay.
No weekends, major holidays, or evenings/nights.
Job Type: Part-time, Seasonal
Salary: $18 – $20 per hour
